Eye-watering amount Beyoncé was paid for NFL halftime show revealed

Beyoncé took to the stage on Christmas Day at Houston’s NRG Stadium

Beyoncé is said to have added a hefty amount added to her $760 million net worth following her NFL halftime show.

The singer, who was once one third of girl band Destiny’s Child, has had a pretty stellar career so far, with her Renaissance World Tour raking in almost $600 million.

Now, the award-winning singer has brought home another impressive sum after her NFL halftime show.

Beyoncé headlined Super Bowl XLVI back in February 2013, and took to the stage once more on Christmas Day to perform halfway through the game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The singer, who hails from Houston herself, performed a series of songs from her latest album, Cowboy Carter.

As to how much she got paid, it’s rumored that the mom-of-three received $20 million, working out at more than $1 million per minute of her show.

If the rumors are right, this will be the second $20 million payday for Beyoncé after reportedly being paid the same sum in 2018 her for unmissable Coachella performance.

She collaborated with Netflix then as well, and released Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé in 2019.

UNILAD have approached Netflix and Beyoncé’s reps for comment on the reports of her $20 million fee.

Aside from her reported multimillion dollar payout, her Christmas Day performance has people talking for other reasons.

Beyoncé ruffled a few feathers on Wednesday after giving a gun finger gesture – something which NFL players are prohibited to do.

As to why it’s banned, it’s because the supposedly ‘violent gesture’ is classed as unsportsmanlike by the NFL.

Part of the football players’ manual reads, as per New York Times: “There shall be no unsportsmanlike conduct. This applies to any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.

“Such acts specifically include, among others: (a) Throwing a punch, or a forearm, or kicking at an opponent, even though no contact is made. (b) Using abusive, threatening, or insulting language or gestures to opponents, teammates, officials, or representatives of the League. (c) Using baiting or taunting acts or words that may engender ill will between teams. (d) Any violent gesture, or an act that is sexually suggestive or offensive.”

Doing such things can land players with an eye-watering fine – something Allen Lazard learnt the hard way back in October.

As part of a celebration, Lazard did two gun fingers (which was caught on camera), and was later hit with a $14,069 fine. Ouch.
