Nicole Kidman has an upcoming film titled “Babygirl,” where she stars alongside a much younger actor, portraying a character who begins an affair with him. The movie’s explicit scenes have stirred reactions from online users and even prompted a response from her husband.

Kidman and her spouse Keith Urban met in early 2005, and within months, she knew he was the one. The pair married in 2006 in a romantic ceremony in Australia. Today, the lovebirds, who have been married for 18 years, share two children.
While their family life remains steady, both Kidman and Urban continue to pursue bold paths in their careers. Urban, a Grammy Award winner, has flourished in the music industry, while Kidman often takes on daring, headline-making film roles, frequently cast alongside younger love interests.

“My husband is an artist, so he understands all of it, and he also does not get involved,” the award-winning movie star explained.
Fast forward to 2024, Kidman, now 57, stars in the upcoming erotic thriller “Babygirl.” In this intense film, the Australian native takes on the role of a powerful CEO who jeopardizes both her career and family in a steamy affair with her significantly younger intern, played by English actor, Harris Dickinson, who is 28.

In a recent interview, Kidman revealed the intensity of filming the movie, explaining that the role left her so “turned on” at times she needed to step back from production.

Working closely with Dickinson and Antonio Banderas, 64, who plays her on-screen husband, the Emmy Award winner described the experience as “almost like a burnout.”

“There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration. It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me,'” Kidman added. Reflecting on the emotional toll, she even confessed, “I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it.”

Despite the intense and intimate nature of Kidman’s recent roles, Urban, 56, remains supportive and unfazed. According to a source, he’s learned to see her work as a form of “art,” understanding that “she is playing characters – she isn’t playing Nicole Kidman.”

The insider added that Urban “isn’t wincing during these types of scenes” and keeps a respectful distance from his wife’s work. He puts focus only on her schedule to coordinate family time with the actress and their children.
While Urban supports Kidman’s artistic choices, the couple is careful about what their daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, are exposed to. An insider revealed, “Nicole is not ashamed in any way, but she doesn’t want them to see everything she does, to her kids, she is just mom.”

The source further noted that, just as the girls don’t attend all of Urban’s concerts, Kidman feels relieved knowing they aren’t exposed to some of her more revealing work.
Yet, in response to Urban’s explanation of his wife’s latest on-screen role, some fans voiced strong reactions. “Keith has blinded his eye to what is right, justifying immoral behavior,” one user commented.
One felt uncomfortable with Kidman’s candidness about her role. “Honestly, this is horrible to hear. Why would she share this kinda [sic] inappropriate information to the world?” questioned one person, calling it “distasteful” and “revolting.” Some even questioned the effect on their marriage, with a user asking, “What’s the point of being married if you’re being into infidelity?”
Scheduled for a Christmas Day release in the US, “Babygirl” has already generated buzz for Kidman’s compelling performance. Premiering at the Venice Film Festival, the film earned her the prestigious Best Actress award, further cementing her reputation for bold, transformative roles.
As Kidman and Keith Urban continue to navigate the challenges of fame, artistic expression, and family life, their relationship appears to be grounded in mutual respect and understanding. Kidman’s bold career choices and Urban’s unwavering support showcase a modern approach to partnership, one where individuality and artistic freedom coexist with family priorities.
While reactions from fans may be divided, the couple remains focused on what matters most to them—each other and their family. As Kidman’s career evolves, it’s clear that her commitment to authenticity, both on-screen and off, remains unshaken.
