The poignant moment Meghan Markle shared with her and Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet

Meghan Markle is learning that motherhood has a darker side.

The Duchess of Sussex couldn’t help but share a charming exchange she had with their 2-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet while visiting with students at the Lightway Academy on May 10 during her and Prince Harry’s three-day vacation in Nigeria.

According to People, Meghan told a kindergarten class, “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys.” Her third birthday is quickly approaching. And when she looked at me a few weeks ago, she would only see the reflection of my eye. Then she says, “Mama, I see myself in you.”

The 42-year-old said that she was now being so literal. However, I interpreted those statements very differently. I told myself, “Yes, you see me in you, and I do see myself in you.”

Sitting behind Harry in the classroom, she addressed the students, saying, “As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”

The two, who are also the parents of Prince Archie, age five, spent their day playing games and taking singing and dancing lessons with the kids. “That’s Lili’s favorite class,” Meghan reportedly stated, the magazine said. “Perhaps the hopping around is the cause,”

Despite their desire to keep their private lives private, Meghan and Harry regularly share fleeting glimpses of their family of four.

“The kids are doing great,” the Duke of Sussex stated on Good Morning America in February. As with any youngsters, the kids are growing up very fast.

“They both have an amazing sense of humor and make us laugh and keep us grounded every single day like most kids do,” the 39-year-old continued. “I simply feel so grateful to be a father.”
