George W. Bush is overjoyed with the arrival of a new member to his family. The former United States president, now 78 years old, recently announced the birth of his grandson on social media.
The new baby, Edward Finn, was born to Bush’s daughter Barbara and her husband Craig. This is the couple’s second child, as they already have a 2-year-old daughter named Cora Georgia.
In a heartwarming photo shared online, Barbara and Craig are seen in a hospital bed, tenderly holding their newborn son, their expressions full of happiness and love as they look at him. Bush shared the moment with his followers, writing, “Welcome to the world, Edward Finn Coyne. @laurawbush and I are proud grandparents of our newest blessing, born on August 4 and lovingly named in honor of his great-grandfathers.” He also congratulated the new parents and Edward’s big sister, Cora Georgia.
The joyful news was initially revealed by Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, on August 5. Jenna, who co-anchors the Today show, took to Instagram to share her excitement about becoming an aunt again.
In her post, Jenna expressed her affection for her new nephew, Edward Finn, by sharing several photos that captured the family’s first moments with him. One image shows Jenna feeding Edward, while another shows her admiring Barbara as she holds her newborn son. Another touching photo features Edward peacefully resting in his mother’s arms.
Although Jenna didn’t share many details about Edward’s birth, the photos hint at the family’s happiness. A noteworthy detail is Edward’s hat from NYU Langone Health, which suggests that Barbara might have given birth at this well-known New York City hospital.
This isn’t the first time George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, have shared their excitement about being grandparents. When Barbara and Craig’s daughter, Cora, was born, the couple released a joint statement celebrating the event. They announced that Barbara had given birth to Cora Georgia Coyne on September 27, 2021, in Maine, near the family home where Barbara and Craig were married. They expressed their joy and gratitude for their healthy and adorable granddaughter.
The Bush family is clearly delighted to welcome this new addition to their lives.
