In 1983, Patricia Clarke, then 24, had an inkling that her unborn child would be larger than average. Her intuition proved correct in an extraordinary way.
Patricia’s baby, Kevin Robert Clark, was born weighing over 16 pounds, making him the largest infant ever delivered at Community Memorial Hospital, and possibly in all of New Jersey at that time. Despite his size, Kevin was healthy, although he outgrew standard-sized baby clothes and cots.
Kevin’s impressive size quickly made headlines, with appearances on popular shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America” bringing him national fame.
As he grew, Kevin continued to stand out. By the age of 12, he was already 5 feet 7 inches tall, and by junior high, he had reached 6 feet 5 inches. His height became a frequent topic of conversation.
“I get asked about my height every day,” Kevin shared. “I like to joke that I’m 5-foot-21. When people ask if I play basketball, I respond by asking if they play miniature golf.”
Now 40 years old, Kevin is a former soldier who lives with his 6-foot-tall wife and their Great Dane. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 9 inches, he has adapted well to his towering stature.
