‘Once I earn more money in the future, hopefully, when things start rolling, then I’ll treat myself to something extravagant then. But for now, I’m just happy to be working.’
During the interview, Sydnie also discussed what her life has been like since she won the talent show.
‘I’ve finished working on the album, which is cool. I’ve had a few gigs, really cool gigs, in front of loads of people.’
‘The Blackpool Illuminations was just unbelievable. I heard there was 80,000 people there, but then I also heard there was 100,000 people there. It was just ridiculous, best experience ever.’
Discussing her debut album launch of, My Way, which was released last month, Sydnie said: ‘I’m nervous but it’s that I’ve ever wanted. It’s great really great. I’m just intrigued to see how it goes.’
The star also revealed that music mogul Simon Cowell, 64, is ‘very hard to get hold of’ when she was asked whether he or Amanda Holden, 53, had been in touch leading up to her album launch.
She said: ‘Simon is very hard to get hold of. I’ve heard he hasn’t got a phone which I think is very clever, and I understand why he wouldn’t have a phone.’
Revealing all she’s ever wanted in life is stability, Sydnie said: ‘I’ve put it all away in a savings account because I want to save for a house at some point’ (pictured April)
She continued: ‘All I ever wanted was stability, to be able to move on in the future and one day have children and things like that, so now, luckily enough, I’ve been given that’ (pictured September)
‘He’s a very busy man, I feel that they were so supportive of me during the show, and the last words that I got from Simon was just how proud he was, and to go for whatever you want, because you can.’
‘You have the power to go for what you want, which was really cool advice from Simon. Very much so. To kind of choose your route.’
The star also revealed that she idolises Arlene Phillips, 81, and thinks of her as a ‘god’ in the musical theatre world.
She said: ‘I love Arlene. We go back in the Starlight days, me and Arlene Phillips. She knows I am absolutely obsessed with her and I idolise the ground that she walks on.’
‘We’ve spent a lot of time in the process of making the show, in rehearsals and things like that. I think of Arlene as like a demigod. A god, in fact. Especially in the musical theatre world, she is the top dog.’
‘If you’ve got Arlene on your side, you are winning. So the fact that I made her proud, I’m ecstatic.’
Revealing that she spoke to her not long ago on the phone, Sydnie continued: ‘I spoke to her on the phone not too long ago because I asked for advice.’
After winning Britain’s Got Talent, Sydnie’s schedule has been jam-packed as she revealed she will be singing at the Hollywood Bowl in three weeks for David Foster’s 75th birthday (David pictured with his wife Katharine McPhee in March)
‘I was like, “Oh, Arlene, help me out. I don’t know what’s going on” because this is just, it’s very overwhelming, a very different side of the industry that I’m used to.
‘But Arlene, luckily enough, has been on every side of the industry. I was lucky enough that she gave me an hour of her time, gave me a call and put me at ease for sure. She’s a darling, caring lady.’
‘If I have half the career that Arlene has got, I’m a very happy woman.’
During the interview, the star also revealed that she will be jetting off to LA in three weeks to sing at the Hollywood Bowl for David Foster’s 75th birthday.
Sharing her busy schedule, Sydnie said: ‘I’m singing for David Foster’s 75th birthday.’
‘I’ve got the panto. I’ve also got the Royal Variety Show in November as well. Panto in December and then tour in February.’
She continued: ‘I’ve never done panto so I’m really looking forward to it. It’s at the Orchard West in Dartford near my home.’
‘I’m coming home for Christmas which would be nice to thank everyone local that voted for me. You get to see me live which is fun.’
The star also admitted that doing auditions for the pantomime ‘is tiring’ as she revealed her part.
It comes after Sydnie appeared on This Morning earlier this month and it was revealed that show bosses had to track her down and get her to accept the money (pictured on This Morning)
She said: ‘(I’m playing) Fairy Christmas in Sleeping Beauty. I’d never been booked for it.’
‘I’ve gone for panto from when I was a child and the last time I went for panto (I) was about 25 and I didn’t get it.’
‘I think people underestimate the fact that you have to keep putting yourself out there doing the auditions it’s tiring, there’s a part of you that doesn’t want to put all your efforts in when you’re going to get rejected.’
‘But you have to give your best in everything. Right now, I’m counting my lucky stars.’

Laughing as she told the story to presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, Sydnie explained that she was too busy at the time as her ‘life took off’ after winning the contest.
